Background
After a visit to Scotland, New Zealanders Sarah and her husband decided to relocate permanently to Auchencrow, Southeast Scotland, a region known for its windy east coast and frequent storms. Their previous experience in New Zealand included building a glass greenhouse, making a new greenhouse a top priority for their Scottish home.
Decision and Purchase
Given the location’s challenging weather conditions, they needed a greenhouse that was not only high-performing but also exceptionally sturdy. Sarah had specific requirements for her growing environment, emphasising ease of maintenance, value for money, strength to withstand storms, and high durability.
Additionally, she needed raised beds for ease of access and to grow winter salads, silver chard, tomatoes, chilies, and other produce year-round. Sarah's main objective was to grow trees and plants for her botanical fabric printing, requiring optimal conditions for leaf health to facilitate the printing process.
Research and Recommendations
Sarah’s decision was heavily influenced by a friend’s recommendation. This friend, also a Keder Greenhouse owner, assured her of its durability, performance, and value. "It will do everything you need it to do, last for over 25 years, and survive the 140mph+ winds and storms we experience every year. Also, if you move, you just take it with you. Excellent value for money," the friend advised.
