Congratulations on your new Keder greenhouse! You've made an excellent choice, investing in one of the strongest greenhouses on the market. But now that it's ready for planting, you might be wondering how to make the best use of the available space. A blank canvas can feel overwhelming, so we're here to help you unlock its full potential.
At our Offenham premises, we have several working Keder greenhouses - some over 30 years old and still thriving. Drawing from this wealth of experience, our dedicated team has brainstormed innovative ideas to maximise your growing space, even in the smallest models.
Raised Beds for Space Efficiency
Even in a compact 2m x 2m greenhouse, you can incorporate raised beds. By utilising the width of the door area, you can dramatically expand your planting capacity. Using simple materials we had on hand, we built raised beds that provide ample room for growing - no matter how ambitious your plans are. With the rising cost of living and occasional shortages of fresh produce, growing your own fruits and vegetables has never been more appealing.
Staging for Multi-Purpose Use
Staging is a game-changer for sowing and potting seedlings. Our sturdy staging system features a robust steel frame (tested to hold up to 18 stone!) and a slatted wooden shelf. We offer two depth options—0.50m and 0.75m—sold in 2m sections. If you're using one of our larger Smallholder models, you can even add tiered staging to further increase your workspace.
Crop Rails for Tall Plants
For growers aiming to cultivate tall plants like tomatoes and cucumbers, crop rails are essential. These steel bars run from front to back at head height, providing the perfect support for tying plants and encouraging straight, strong growth.
Ventilation for Plant Health
As the weather warms up, ventilation is key to managing humidity and preventing plant stress. The Domestic range of Keder greenhouses can be fitted with automated roof vents. Powered by a wax plug mechanism, these vents open and close as needed, giving you peace of mind when you're away from the greenhouse.
Grow Your Vision
Whether you're growing flowers, fruits, or vegetables, your Keder greenhouse offers endless possibilities. With the right setup—raised beds, staging, crop rails, and proper ventilation—you can create an efficient and productive space, ensuring a bountiful harvest year-round.
