At Keder Greenhouse, we believe every school should have the opportunity to grow their own sustainable future. That’s why we’re excited to share news about a grant that can help schools like yours establish a sustainable greenhouse on school grounds.

Whether you want to introduce pupils to hands-on horticulture, boost biodiversity on your campus, or support your school’s journey to Net Zero, grant funding can make a big difference.

A sustainable greenhouse is more than a structure – it’s a living classroom, a place for science and sustainability to come alive.

Why a Greenhouse is the Perfect First Step

A Keder Greenhouse offers schools a practical, scalable way to embrace sustainability:

  • Strong, durable design for year-round growing

  • Supports STEM, biology, and climate education

  • Provides a safe, hands-on environment for students

  • Helps schools cut food miles and grow fresh produce sustainably

  • Due to their proven growing success, strength, and longevity, a Keder Greenhouse will often receive funding approval over other types of greenhouses or polytunnels.

With the right grant funding, your school can turn a greenhouse project into a legacy of climate action, outdoor learning, and student empowerment.

Improve Your Chances of Receiving Funding

Most grants are offered as one-off payments or on a repeating cycle (often annually). Some are competitive, while others are first-come, first-served. To improve your chances of success:

  • Research the funding available and check your school’s eligibility.

  • Create a list of funds you’d like to apply for each year, including deadlines and requirements.

  • Plan ahead with a clear schedule for preparing and submitting applications.

With a little organisation, your applications will be stronger and more likely to succeed.

The Nineveh Charitable Trust

The Nineveh Charitable Trust supports a broad range of UK-based projects and activities of benefit to the General Public, with an emphasis on promoting better understanding of the countryside.  They are currently running a funding programme for Schools, PTA’s and Community Groups to grab £3-£5,000 for projects that grow awareness and love for the environment.  They love to fund forest schools, farm visits and nature trails, conservation and biodiversity initiatives, school farms and tree planting, community projects including sensory gardens, eco-classrooms and heritage hubs.  Apply anytime, applications are reviewed quarterly by Trustees.

This opportunity is just the beginning, there are many other grants available to support sustainability projects in education. Applying regularly and strategically can give your school the resources it needs to thrive.

JJ Gladwin, Founder and Trustee commented “We want all aspects of the design and installation of our school gardens to be of the highest and safest quality.  The decision to put a Keder Greenhouse into our first Go Flourish Garden demonstrates our commitment to these values.
