Good Hope Farm, a two-acre organic therapeutic day centre for adults with learning disabilities, has found the perfect partner in Keder Greenhouse for their growing needs. This inspiring project, led by Karine, her son Alex, and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, provides a nurturing environment where visitors can build self-confidence and mindfulness through nature-based activities.
A Farm with a Purpose
Good Hope Farm serves as a community hub, welcoming referrals from local colleges and special schools. Its activities offer participants a real sense of achievement, fostering personal growth and well-being. Beyond its therapeutic mission, the farm also focuses on sustainable, organic farming practices, making it a beacon of eco-conscious living.
The Perfect Greenhouse Solution
Growing high-quality produce is a vital part of the farm's operations, and choosing the right greenhouse was critical. A Keder greenhouse was recommended for its:
Safety - The bonded cladding eliminates risks associated with glass.
Durability - Built to withstand storms and extreme weather.
Longevity - A modular design allows for expansion as the farm evolves.
The project, a collaboration with West Berkshire Council, was partially funded by the Greenham Trust. Volunteers also adapted the greenhouse’s interior to ensure accessibility, creating wheelchair-friendly workspaces and benches.
A Blossoming Community Effort
Since its opening in March 2023, Good Hope Farm has flourished, receiving enthusiastic support from the local business community through well-being days and volunteering efforts. Karine highlights the farm’s eco-friendly ethos:
“We are a no-plastic, sustainable, all-organic farm and don’t use chemicals of any sort. Even our toilets are compostable and wheelchair-friendly! We encourage bees, butterflies, and insects by maintaining wild meadow areas and flowers.”
The farm’s commitment to sustainability extends to a roadside flower and produce stand, where proceeds fund new community projects on-site.
A Model for Growth and Inclusion

With its focus on sustainability, accessibility, and community engagement, Good Hope Farm is more than just a farm - it's a sanctuary where individuals can grow alongside nature. The Keder greenhouse has become an integral part of this thriving initiative, ticking all the boxes for safety, durability, and eco-conscious design.
